I have heard that they are the best, I don't have or have I ever used one.
I have two filet knives and an electric. I do not use the electric unless we have a couple hundred pounds of fish to clean. My two are Rapala and BRK and I have found the key to any filet knife it to keep them sharp.
I don’t use my electric much either.
That bubba electric is $40 off

One of my favorite filet knives is one I picked up in Kenai, Alaska for 2.99 about 30 years ago when we need another to get fish filleted faster. Made a heavy cardboard sheath for it for travel home and have kept it that way - mostly just for memory sake. A couple swipes of the steel and its stays super sharp and has just the right flex to it but stiff enough to work. No brand name and I think it was a ‘second’ if memory serves me. No brand name or markings on it. Just plain works great along with my 40 year old Rapala. Think it was made by Knives of Alaska is what they told me but who knows or really cares.

Bought one 2 months ago at a 25% discount. Have used it at least 6 times on board boat. Well worth the money.
Cuts filet time in half. But not as finesse
As a reg. knife
I’ve heard folks say electric knife wastes meat.
Never noticed that

That's true.lol. I have about 6 Bubba knives. Use them for everything, filleting fish cutting up elk n deer. I like the handles. My hands aren't good but can hang on to them. The electric is to thick for my hand tho.

I use an electric fillet knife all the time. I don’t notice any wasted meat at all.
The electric I use is a mister twister fish n fillet.
Wore out a set of blades.
Actually they got dull and I screwed em up sharpening them
Replacement set was $15 and good as new.
Used to clean tons of big slab bluegill with it
Haven’t targeted big bluegill in some time.
Almost broke it out last time I had a near limit of crappie bit I wanted to see how the bubba performed.
Bubba did well

Agreed. Technique is as important as a good knife.

I have had the same fillet knife for over 30 years and last year alone filleted over 1500 bass, gills, crapps, and trout. Sad to say this brand was sold to another company and they discontinued making them. It is a Normark by Fiskers. I hear a lot of fishermen saying they can fillet so fast with electric or power knives and I question in my own mind if it is really true that they get that much more meat off the bones than I do, or are that much faster. I pride myself in getting the maximum meat off of each fish no matter the size as that is what is important to me. Like was said the key really is keeping the knife sharp and that is why I use the super easy Edgemaker Pro. If you haven't used something like this sharpener which costs around $16, they are really worth a try. Below is a pic of my favorite knife and sharpener.
