A buddy and I are heading down to Tampa Fl for a golf/fishing trip this coming week. We are looking to do a bass fishing day with a guide. Anybody have any guide services/locations? Last year we went out on Okeechobee through bass online and we had an ok experience but not great. Any advice would be appreciated!

Why bass instead of an inshore trip?

Mostly for the reason I’m not sure what is good in shore this time of year! Recommendations for species would be greatly appreciated!

Tarpon, redfish, trout should be plentiful. Snook are moving out of their winter haunts to the beaches and passes for the summer spawn. A guided trip should be able to put you on any or all of those.

Hell, Spring is springing. Tarpon may already be moving into Boca Grande. You said you went to Okeechobee last time. The inshore possibilies between Tampa and Boca Grande are near endless and it's a much shorter drive from Tampa than the big lake.

Really appreciate the comments! How is price compared to a day for bass? I think we paid 400 total base price for the day! I think I’d much rather chase some reds and snook and a few tarpon. Thinks it’s to late to book a charter for this weekend?

If you want to go back to the big O Tom Mann jr is the best guide over there. He will definitely put you on fish and he’s just a great guy to fish with. Live bait or artificial
