Just wondering if other fishermen have had poor luck fishing after a full moon. My fishing partner and I usually fish for trout (in lakes) or Kokanee by trolling. Looking at my fishing log, anytime after a night(s) of a full moon we have poor luck.

Wait for four or five days after the full moon.

Fishing here is slower then slow after a full moon. Still catch a few but those were the ones that slept in all night and not out eating with that full moon.

We think that is why out of 7 boats fishing for muskies only one 32”er was caught - full moon. Just our thoughts - now new Moon is a different story.

Hey do you fish French Meadow Res. Lots of nice Browns and Rainbows in there, don't think there are any Kokes though?

The reason it’s slow during the day after a full moon is that because of the full moon, the fish gorged themselves at night and eat very little during the following daytime.
New moon works the same, as there is usually less light for the fish to see bait on the night of the new moon and therefore are hungrier during the daytime following a new moon
