LAKE TROUT -Tangle Lake, Alaska. Ate a spinner right off the boat ramp at 9am. What do you guys think it weighed? I guess around 15-16lbs but didn't have a scale on me.

Hard to say nothing in the picture to comparing it to if you were holding it that would've helped.

It was a 37" fish, could it really weigh so little?

There is a formula to get the weight without a scale.
Can you measure the girth?
Weight of a fat-bodied fish
(bass, salmon)
(length x girth x girth)/800
Weight of a slender fish
(trout, northern pike)
(length x girth x girth)/900
No reference for size, but looks about 24-27 inches long could have weight about 7-10lbs.
This looks more like a lake trout than a brown trout...can’t quite see the complete tail or caudal fin but if it is deeply V’ed it is probably a lake trout...still a nice fish...we catch a lot of lake trout here in Maine...l’d put the weight at 7-8 lbs. Benjo

Loc: Lake Onalaska, Sunfish Capitol of the World!
The spots aren't big enough to be a brown.
Lake Trout, nice fish ! Fire up the smoker !
Definitely a Laker; not a Brown
Don't think that is a Brown Trout. Wrong color & spot pattern. 37" lake Trout, maybe 17 lbs.
If the front edges of the lower fins showed a little more white, it could also be an Arctic Char.
