So the spring rainbow trout run is upcoming soon and this year i think i need to buy a pair of sunglasses which will help me see through the water better. Most of the rivers are no more than a few feet deep, but the glare makes it difficult to spot fish. Anyone know of any good polarized glasses under $100?

I just ordered a couple pair of Blenders that are polarized and about $40 a piece. They have some nice designs, we will have to see how well the polarization performs. There are also different color lenses that perform better in certain situations such as water type and weather.

580G Costa's with Amber lens, Green mirror are the best I've found so far for variable light freshwater fishing.

The Fantail frames are my favorite I've tried. If you watch eBay and SteepAndCheap you can find them on sale in the low 100's fairly regularly. The frames are a bit bulky and not the most stylish, but the glass (the G in 580G) they use is amazing for visual clarity. Amber, polarized lenses seem to give me the best contrast. I've got their blue lenses for ocean fishing, and the amber without the green mirror for hiking as well. Their plastic lenses are not bad either (580g) but don't seem to be better than Oakley which are good, or Ray Ban which aren't bad but aviators tend to let more light in from behind and the side. If you buy on eBay just make sure to use a seller in the high 90% rating with thousands of reviews and you should be fine... just avoid the low or no reviews people with stock photography and generic names...

Don't pay retail price for any of them, Luxottica Group owns most of the major brands and retail is hugely marked up. I've heard good things about Smiths ChromaPop lenses as well but don't own any.

Something polarized is usually fine, just want to reduce the reflections coming off the water. I have a 5$ pair and a 150$ pair of glasses, both polarized, and they accomplish the same thing. No need to spend a bunch of money, just find a pair that fits well and covers your eyes/face well (i.e. so there is no need to squint). Other than that, fish on!

Bombers or sun clouds are hi quality shades for under $70. True that $5 vs $150 polarized shades essentially do the same job, the difference is a. In the brand name if that is important b. Optic quality c. Comfort of fit. Look at Sierra trading post for a higher end shades that fit comfortably, with better optics than Walmart shades, and make you look good. You’ll probably be shopping for styles a year or two old, but...

I bought a pair of “Field & Stream” polarized glasses at Dick’s Sporting Goods last year for $ 6.00 and love them. Very comfy and fit so tight against cheeks that a gnat can’t get in.

Maui Jim`s to Costa`s! Tried discount glass`s and they do work fine for glare but offer some degree of distortion. Check out flying fisherman sunglass`s next quality with discounts! All help with glare, try Walmart Penn brand sunglass`s then try others there, see distortion and pick out clearest view for price! Cheep is not always best, but any polarized sunglass`s help seeing into water by cutting glare period. Cost is clarity in quality glass, spend some extra for extra sight if sight fishing! All of them work on glare factor, check for clarity too!
