Read about a one fish tournament awhile back.a participant went a day early to prefish and located the fish, the next day he went back and on his first cast he caught a big fish and won the tournament, how about that, he had to wait until the weigh in time but still won on his first cast of the day!

That's pretty cool. When you coming back home? I've been fishin stripers heavily for the past 2 months.
Leavin for Idaho on the 19th and won't be back till the 30th.
Maybe we can get out again soon.

IDK. He lost his house in the Tubbs Fire along with his boat and most of his belongings.
Sure has a nice boat now though.

If he had no bad luck he’d have no luck at all. So sorry.

Interesting, I am reading the book "Sow belly" by Monte Burk about the quest for a record large mouth bass. In 1932 a record was set at 22 pounds 4 ounces. In 1991 a fisherman trying to break the record caught a 22 pound 1 ounce bass in that lake, the 2nd largest at that time? What is the record now?

Technically George Perry's 22lb 4oz bass is still the world record,1932. In 2009 a guy in Japan caught a 22lb 5oz bass but I.G.F.A. requires records to be broken by 2oz or more.

Thank you. The fisherman who caught the 22lb 1 oz bass was obsessed with the world record. When he found that his fish didn't get it, he released it back into the lake so it could lay it's eggs. Someone else has the California record at 21 pounds +.
