I have been looking a long time for someone else with tips and comments on the James River near Richmond. Also looking for tip and tricks for fishing Lake Chesdin. Anyone out there from Va?

I live near Lake Chesdin and also want to fish it more. Only thing I've caught from James is catfish. Got a couple of 50 lb'ers.

vatagman: well, from RossNetMan's report you wil have to bulk up in your tackle if you are going to tackle the catfish in the James River. Please post any pictures of your catch. Just Sayin...RJS

Although I am not a current resident, I did live in the Roanoke area some time back ; if you like
big bass and don't mind a bit
of a ride, I would suggest Briery Creek Lake (just south of
Farmville on Rt. 460, about 75 to 90 minutes west of Richmond,
which is known for producing record-sized largemouths ! You can read up on it first to verify,
but from what I've read on it, it
has quite the reputation for holding some big 'uns !
