From Washington state I’m new to fishing I’ve fished before but I’m now learning how to do the lines baiting casting by myself I’m 62 years young and I just want to fish I travel to Mexico in the winters so I’ll be doing some fishing now along the way

Welcome TAMTAM: Where do you fish in Mexico? i took one trip to El Salto Lake and caught my personal best bass at 9 lbs. great trip. Also, out of Cozumel, I caught a striped Marlin that weighed 179 lbs. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome TAMTAM. If you ever make it up to the peninsula I know of a really nice trout pond that I can take you to or just tell you how to get there. It’s catch and release only and barbless hooks. Mostly fly fishing but spinning gear is ok too. There are a lot of members here that live in Oregon and California that can put you on the fish on your way to Mexico.

Is that pond open to a guy from WI via TN visiting Fish in Washington to catch trout?

I may do that sooner than you think. Which airport is closest to your home? I need to check flights. They are really cheap right now.
