Here’s my biggest bass ever.
6 1/2 lbs. 21 1/2” long.
Caught on Father’s Day , 1997 or 1998 from neighbor’s dinky pond, using a Blue Fox Minnow Spin.

Here’s the same fish ( mounted) and the lure used to catch her.

7 pound 3 oz SmallMouth Bass, I've caught much bigger catfish up to 20 pounds and a Striper at 23 pounds but the last two I don't have pictures.

50" musky caught in 2014 on a northern Wisconsin lake. Was casting a Fox spoon in a bluegill pattern that I bought for $1.99 on my way from home to the lake. Had my best musky day ever....landed a total of 5 that day on that very same lure!

Very nice, Ivey. That had to have a lot of fight in him. SM generally go...the very few I've caught.

Well, speaking from personal experience....not necessarily.

But, I remain a happy camper having been born, raised and living here most of my life.

BTW, Lake Fork is by-and-large considered the best bass lake in the state...among many good-uns.

I have been fortunate to have caught some nice fish. Striper, Kingfish and a Largemouth (just last year). Sorry about the blood. He jumped off the gaff and my friend had to hit him again.

And also, I caught a 100+ pound Goliath Grouper on 20 pound test mono using an Ambassador baitcaster reel mounted on a 7 foot med action bass rod. Took me 40 plus minutes to get him to the boat. Almost wore out my thumb trying to slow him down!

Still have my lucky spoon. Have caught numerous muskies and northerns on it. Wish I could find another as a backup.
