I had 5 boats at one time a couple years ago and it wasn't intentional. I inherited 2 and when I bought my new and bigger place below # 9 Dam , 2 boats came with it. One was a 12 ft. runabout with trailor and the other was a small Bass Tracker that had only been used for a four week period. It had a 25 Mercury on it with An Aluminum prop with all the paint still on the blades, I ask the wife which one she wanted to keep for HER boat and she picked the shiny new Tracker , the rest we got rid of including the 18 ft. flat we usually fished from.
You don't run an Alum. prop on the big river (very long ) and a power trim and tilt is also a must with a stainless wheel. I replaced the pretend troller up front with an 80 pound thrust tiller arm control that will drag us thru a solid wall of veggies or pads, with our current set up we can do 6 inches of water quite well.
Since I put on the big troller I have only used the 12 foot duck billed push pole once and that was to fend off a really pissed off Beaver my Dentist had snagged between the ears with a Rattletrap, but that' another story.

Hi, my name is Harley.
I have a fishing shack 10 miles North of Prarie Du Chien Wisconsin. My buddy and I use it as a home base and
usually fish 1 or 2 pools North or South on Saturday and head the opposite direction on Sunday. We usually fish Bass but take a couple hours on Sunday afternoon to catch 3 or 4 Walleye so his wife can have a fish fry during the week. Been enjoying reading this forum, seems to be a likable bunch that hangs around here hope there are a few river rats in the group maybe hook up over on the river sometime. Right now the Bass are starting to get active in the pad fields near us !

Tight lines everyone !

Howdy Harley. I've traveled that river road along the Miss from outside LaCrosse to Prairie. Beautiful drive both winter & summer with some great dives along the road for food. Always wanted to fish some of those bays & I've stopped & watched the vast throng of folks ice fishing. We don't get any ice fishing here & i think it's interesting. Enjoy our forum.
