Hello, I'm looking at buying a beginner fishing kayak for 1000 dollars or less (Ideally less than 800) and I would want it to be about 10 feet long or less does anyone have any recommendations I would ideally want a sit on top but I would be fine with a sit-in.

I would suggest Facebook marketplace and Craigslist type apps. There’s a lot of people in my area that bought kayaks this year and are now realizing they have no place to store them. Check often, and when one pops up you can google it for price and reviews.

The Lifetime Teton Angler is a fairly cheap yak that'll do the trick until you want to upgrade.

are there any other ones you would recommend since they don't sell that one by me and I would rather spend more and have something last

My brother uses an Ascend . Not sure of model. He loves it
I’ve looked at em in the $400 $500 range
They are available at cabelas. I’m thinking $1000 would get you a fine outfit.
I second the Vibe Yellowfin 100. Stable, comfortable seat, 57lbs. For $699 it's hard to beat. Owned one for 3 years. The Sea Eagle 285 inflatable is also good for small waters. I have one of those too. Wouldn't recomend either one for fast moving water.
Where do you live? I have a 10' ascend for sale for 450.00. I live in Santa Clara.Ca.
How big are you? If you are on the heavy side go for 12'. There are a lot of decent fishing kayaks out there. Bass Pro and Cabelas has the Ascend for about $600. Perception Outlaw or Pescador. Wilderness Systems Tarpon. Just plug in fishing kayaks. Dont skimp on the paddle. A good paddle makes a huge difference. Mine are in the $400 range. Spend less on the boat and more on the paddle. Make sure the paddle is the correct length for the width of the boat.
Hi for fishing I would go with the sit on top.easy in and out,you can hang your feet over the side, move your butt around more.sitting in them for a few hours is hard on the rear end..plus you have a little more room for tackle ect.I have both s.o.t. and sit inside. The sit inside is faster and easier paddling but not as easy to fish from for me..good luck and have fun.☺
