I went fishing in my farmer buddies pond this evening. I took 5 rods but only used 4. I caught the first one on a 3” crankbait and the other on a plastic worm. Walmart had 4 boxes of lures and I bought $60 worth of lures. If you were to pay regular price they would have cost $225 - $250. I paid $2.10 for that crankbait, normally would cost $8.75. Had fun getting out!
Thanks IF. It didn’t start out very good, stuck a treble hook in my jeans. Had to flatten the barb to get it out. Good thing it wasn’t in my leg. Then popped off a whopper plopper, had it on a 6# floro leader. Had to do a little fishing to get it back. I missed one other bite on the worm.
Good job, terrific pics of fish. Just Sayin...RJS
Absolutely beautiful.
Oh wait. That is a nice fish too!
Wal-Mart bargain bins are the bomb !!!
Some not so great but others ... oh yea.
Bought a lifetime supply of gamagatsu worm hooks from there once.
That’s the first time I’ve seen fishing lures on close out. I did get a spool of floro coated 6# line today that was on close out for $1.75. Thanks y’all, I appreciate all your comments.

Beautiful fish RB, and nice little pond your buddy has there. There's nothing like a bargain that pays off! Thanks for sharing.
Nice Rutin, you look like one proud pop with a new born in that 2nd pic. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for sharing, good job, Rb.
Plum, all my other pics I’ve posted I wasn’t smiling so I thought I’d crack a smile. That pond is really quite unique. It’s kinda horse shoe shaped and tucked back in the trees. It’s about 3-4 foot low right now, needs some rain. The trees block the wind and most of the time it’s pretty calm. I was wanting to catch one on top water using whopper plopper and a jitter bug but got no bites. It was rebuilt 3 years ago and stocked with bass, crappie and bluegills. Size wise maybe 1 1/2 acres. My thermacell kept me from getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, they were really bad!

Yes, Nice fish!
I only really buy on sale lures, Its the only way to go, otherwise they are too expensive.
CBD, ya got that right. Them crankbaits are expensive and most of what I bought were crankbaits. Got some spinnerbaits, hula poppers and jitterbugs too!

I dropped about 36.00 at the local Academy, and it would have been about 90.00 if all that stuff wasn't on sale, Well, The catfish dip bait wasn't on sale but that stuff is cheap.
Dad always used shad sides, smells like $hit. I figure it like this, ifn you can only fish one day a year and you’re desperate and hell bent on catching a catfish, that’s what ya use!
