How is the fishing at lake Ming in bakersfield calif?

The last time I was at lake Ming was in 1960. I don't know how much it's changed, but the water skiers pretty well kept the lake churned up when I was there. Even if the lake were full of fish, it wouldn't be very pleasant trying to fish in it. It would be like relaxing in a camp chair on the side of the freeway. I'd be more inclined to find some spots along the Kern river.

Sorry can't help you now I used to live in Visalia but now moved out to Florida. Back then it was a good bass fishery.
It ia stocked with trout early spring. Carp and cat are caught often. I have seen nice bass taken there.
Skiing is not allowed every day any longer.

Check out tackleandrod.com for local reports. I fish the reeds on the east end of the lake and do well
