What park, what lake Having been through Carlsbad, N.M. (mostly for the Caverns) I wasn't aware of any large body of water nearby, nor even a city park.

My thoughts, exactly, RJ. Of course, for all we know, Paul may have been in New England fishing. Yet, I am curious as to if there is indeed a lake/park in Carlsbad, N.M. The Cavern gets tiresome eventually, and it would be nice to know there is a lake nearby to fish in.

There is a lake nearby to fish in. Lake Carlsbad state park. Looks like it is either in town or very nearby. 126+ acres.

Just checked a map of that area; it looks like they dammed the Pecos River to form a lake along the east side of town; there is an area along the lake designated as Lake Carlsbad Beach Park !
The lake has been stocked with bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie,
and walleye !

Thanks, Bear. I just looked at the map and saw the lake. It actually reminds me much of Lake Childress, Tx. city park and lake. Thanks for pointing out the map to me
