Thank you Shutupandfish. Most people have no freaking idea of just what you guys and gals do. I so appreciate your service and dedication. In my early years I spent my life on the water and at one point, along with my sister, had to call on the CG to tow me in under heavy winds with a dead engine on a sailboat, very professional and slowed the tow down so that I could dock the boat without having any damage. Well, during my boating days, I have salvaged several other boaters and glad to do it. You never know when you are going to need a tow. One time I saw a sail boat with its mast stuck in the mud and all the crew in the water. It was a troop of boy scouts working on their merit badges and the wind had caused the mast to get stuck in the mud. I picked them up in my boat than pulled their sail boat out of trhe mud. Before they could get aboard and get control, it begfan top sail away on its own. I had to catch it again. They were awfully gratefjul.

While this was happening another boat saw me helping them. A little later this boat's engine quit on them and when i finished with the boy scouts, they waved me down for help, so I pulled them to the dock, for a two/fer!
Another time my granddaughter and I were out for a cruise, just around the island were my house was. When we got to the north end, there was a boat stranded and I slowed down and aske if they needed help. They said their motor had quit and needed a tow back to the dock. I threw them a rope and took them to the nearest dock. Theyu wanted to pay me, and I said "No, pay it forward!" They refuese and threw $40 in my boat! I never believed in taking anything because no one knows when they will need help! Just Sayin...RJS
