So I’m new to this as well as the largemouth game.. I want all and any input on the bass game.. my favorite lure is chatter bait.. but I wanna get more Versatile with my lures. Im in ct. plz share
Amdest9995: Well, you have to explore the world of plastic worms! I think chatter baits are more fun to work when nothing is biting, or even if they are, but worms introduce more suspense! You never know what is down there and by watching your line carefully, will you get any indication of something happening.
Once in a swamp in South Louisiana, I broke my rod on a large bass who had picked up my worm offering and i was attempting to set the hook! Goes to show, when something bad happens, it makes for a good story. Just Sayin...RJS
Robert J Samples: I do use plastic worms as well (Gary Yamamotos) I’m just getting Intune with how to use them.. making them move the right way I use the Texas rig weightless is my go to.

There's about 7 or 8 of us on here.
Welcome Antoine. I'm a CT member but not bass guy. I'm an old Salt fisherman. Many bass guys on here, you should get some advice

To tell you the truth, I haven't been bass fishing from the shore for many years. Most of the ponds I used to go have been bought up by real estate developments and are now privately owned. There's still the usual places like state parks. There are some "Community Fishing "lakes and ponds, but most are stocked with only channel cat's and trout. Not to say that there's no bass in there, because there are bass in pretty much every body of water in CT. 2 places that come to mind are Scoville Reservoir in Wolcott has a resident population of Largemouths, and North Farms Reservoir in Wallingford has a good Largemouth population but is a salad bowl by this time of year. I've always wondered about farm ponds, but never asked the owners for permission to fish them. If you had a small boat like a yak or inflatable there would be much more available. Oh yeah, there's some shore access at Bantam Lake along rt 209 in Morris. And some at Black Pond in Meriden-Middlefield. Get a copy of the CT. Fishing Guide and research the smaller bodies of water. When you find something interesting,Google Earth comes in very handy to see the access. Good Luck.
