I finally got energy up and the tide was comming in plus morning temp was tolerable. So me and my 4 legged girl friend went fishing. I can't leave my bait liver out cause she eats it. I caught 5 🐱 s one of which was a nice sail 🐱. I can't leave the hook on the ground with the liver on it as Tiffy goes for it. I'm gonna be in trouble if she gets the hook.
Bout 20 years ago I had a fishin dog named Tip who loved to catfish. He swallowed a chunk of mackerel that was attached to 5/0 circle hook. My fault for leaving it where he could get it. I felt awful. Took him to the UC Davis vet school, they had a endoscope and were able to get it out and fix him up. Lesson learned. The hard way as usual for me.
Don't know what the topic of this post means, but I am not that desperate to catch a fish - I ain't beatin off no skunk. Don't care how much he might like it.

Don't want to learn the hard way as the vets around here want an arm & leg for anything .Guess I'll just have to stay on top of it. Glad she doesn't go for the fiddler crabs or shrimp and just sniffs the squid. Don't think I'd go fishing much if I didn't have my little girl friend go with me.
Saw a dog, not mine, snuffing around a oiece of squid someone left lay on the beach. Dog ended up with a 4/0 stuck in his jowl.. Took some doing but the dig helped out. The hook got removed and I still had all my fingers. After that I added a few items to my first aid kit.

I've got dikes and linemans in the car. How much good is a muzzle if the hooks in pooches mouth?
one of them lattice ones, holds the teeth together, but you can still get to the lips. ever try to cut through a 4 or 5/0 with a regular pair of dikes? you got stronger hands than me - my hands were made for countin money I guess.

Scalpel for one. Always have alcohol and ice to numb the area.
Let my dog out one morning. He came back in and had his rear leg up like he was gonna pee in the house right after I let him back in
Went to give him a little discipline and realized he had a crankbait stuck in his rear paw !!
Got him in bed with wife, she’s struggling to hold him , of course he wants to bite it. Had another set of trebles for his mouth, anyway she’s fighting To keep him from more harm
I Go to the garage looking for the wire cutters that have been in the same drawer of tool box for 20 years. They ain’t there
I finally found some wire strippers and cut the hook out
Took him to the vet to get the rest cut out.
$300 later he’s stoned on anesthetic, I’m thinking he’ll sleep it off . But no he wants to stagger around and fall into stuff.
No idea where he got a crankbait
What a morning
