My daughter who lives in Grant Alabama has a 3 acre pond on her property. She says the fish come up to visit her whenever she brings her horse down for a drink. Lol.
Can you identify the type of fish that are in the picture?
We’re going to visit her after the meet and greet next May. It’s going to be hard to wait that long.

I would say that there is some perch and some sunnys in the school. The reason that the fish come in is because the horse stires up the water and insects on the bottom of the pond and the fish eat them. Fish go to school, they are not dummies.

Thanks guys. I’ve caught plenty of bluegill but never a perch. Should be fun. She says there are some really big fish in there too. I’m guessing LM. At least I hope so.
I kinda figured it had something to do with the horse.

I’m a hoping.

Here is a little guy she fished out of the middle of the pond this morning. She called F&G and they told her to put it somewhere safe until it’s settled down and then to let it go. So she put it in her horse stall. They said coyotes probably chased him into the pond.

Thanks but that’s just always been her nature. Even as a little girl she couldn’t stand to see even an insect suffer.

She rode her horse out to the middle of the pond and put a rope around its neck and led it to shore.
