You guys come up with lures I have never seen or used. It's an interesting one tho. I've never used a CASTNET either.

Castnets aren't to hard to use, it's just getting the how to cast, where to hold while casting. You tube is your friend and will get you on the right path quick.

Doing pretty good Wulffy, how are you? Between walking up and down isles of Sears, K-Mart,(remember them),Wal-Mart, Bass Pro,and Cabelas, and numerous tackle shops you tend to remember things you see a lot even if you never bought them. And that doesn't count the 40 years of catalogs, and articles in fishing magazines, or fishing shows on tv. The only ones I don't get are the ones discontinued long ago. I was brought up baitfishing, lures were to expensive. Wasn't till I was 12 or 13 that I started buying my own. Rebels, Hula Popper, Jitterbug, Daredevil, and a countdown Rapala were probably the first I ever owned. Much simpler times. My friends were still drowning worms, and catching sunfish and tiny yellow perch, and I would throw a jointed, silver and black Rebel, and catch a 1lb (huge at the time) largemouth. They would sure get POed at me! LOL Most of them gave up fishing as we got older, but it's in my blood. I did get away from it for short periods, but always missed it, and always came back. Sorry to go on like this, anyway tight lines to you sir, and go catch a fish!

Besides drowning worms I grew up with a fly rod had no experience at all with any kind of fish but trout and whitefish and suckers. Have expanded my horizons in my later years and love it all. Unfortunately joint issues prevent my getting to the water for awhile but hey I got the stage to keep me pacified. Lol

Mornin' Wulffy, I was fishing the Yellowstone River a few years back and I caught a Mountain
Whitefish. I had caught whitefish out of the Canadian lake but no idea the they would be in streams out in the West. I had to ask someone what kind of fish it was.

We fished for them in the winter. The meat was too soft during warm water. Was,lots of fun. Usually screened up a bunch of helgrammites and fished the riffles. Grew up on the Yellowstone. Anyway the Whitefish were great fare when smoked. Lots of bones otherwise.
Bomber Bait Company made a lure called the Stick, and another companion lure called the Spin Stick, which was similiar to the lure shown here. But I don't believe the lure shown is a Bomber Spin Stick. Just Sayin..

Someday I'll get out there again.
Maybe this winter when they stock the trout at Lake Dixon, no license needed just a $5 lake permit.
No use buying a license in the winter just to have in expire at the end of December.
