Well I got off work early on Friday, thought I’d go fishing early enough to beat the holiday traffic. Of course my son needed to borrow my truck to move something. His hour turned into nearly three. Got on the freeway and you can see from the first picture I didn’t beat the crowd. That’s me standing still on I-80. I just about turned around and went home. Turns out that would’ve been a mistake. There weren’t all that many people at the lake, the weather was just about perfect and I had a great time. I caught a couple perch, a smallmouth and a couple of rainbow trout. The last being the one you can kind of see in the picture. I caught him on an ultralight rod with a fly and a bubble. Super fun way to end a great evening on the inflatable pontoon.

That trout looks like he needed a good meal. Kinda lean. But good for you! and thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I think he’s kind of caught between my leg and the pontoon. It was a pretty nice fish, I’m just lousy at taking pictures.
