Minnow trap, but always tie it to a stake or anchor in swift water,,,,,,or it might get washed away. Bait it with something the minnows will want to eat. Just Sayin...RJS

We use them for crayfish. Put some fish parts in it and drop to bottom of fresh water lake then go fishing. come back on way to camp and get a bunch of crawdads.

Yep: For fishermen who use live bait, the minnow trap is a real aid. It will help you catch eithr minnows or crawfish, the most common food, at least in southern lakes. Some people seine for them, but a trap is much easier to a lazy fisherman. Just Sayin...RJS

That is a neat minnow trap, but you can make your own if you are handy and have the tools. We made our own perch trap. Maybe 5 feet long and had a diameter of perhaps 2 feet. We baited it with cotten seed cake the same that we fed our cows. Just Sayin...RJS

RJS We used the wire meshed fish baskets and layered hay, cottonseed cake and canned dog food and hung them under the pier of our camp back in the sixties and seventies. It drew in all kinds of fish.

Well, as long as you didn't stick you hand in without looking, because a water Moccisian down here would love to get in there with all those food bites. Just Sayin...RJS

We had many a stump tail water moccasin around the area but luckily never had one in the baskets. Always ran across them sunning themselves on the trails we used during hunting season.
