I GOT SKUNKED! Same fishing spot ,same poles, same hat everything! I had 3 poles with 3 different proven baits on and not a nibble. I did drag in a grocery bag in off the bottom. Yesterday I couldn't keep up with 2 rods tho many of the fish were to small for me to keep. The only thing different was last night we had several thunderstorms go thru. Did that do it or did Spirits skunk get me? At any rate I don't remember the last time I didn't even get a bite! Shoot I even got up at 6am to buy 2 dozen fiddler crabs. The tide was incoming just like Saturdays just 40 minutes later.

Don’t blame Spirit but at least he is trying to help you at this point. Get some of the fish scent oils to get the skunk off. If thunderstorms rolled through could of changed thermocline disrupted their cycles ( daily etc ). Oyster juice is my go to scent.

I've found that the fish get lockjaw when a cold front goes through, which is typical with a thunderstorm. There is a pressure change and the temps drop. Double whammy, slow bite.

Same thing happened to me. Though it might well be the thunderstorms, I have also taken a different approach just in case. I went to the grocery store and bought half a pound of garlic. I'm stringing them together to wear around my neck and garlic juice ( minced ) to smear over my tackle. Also got 2 southeastern Pennsylvania hex signs which I intend to put on either end of the boat. I hope this helps. Fish with a smile on your face and think positive. Happy days and good fishing. Bobber

But this is Florida the temp drop can't be more than normal swing 90s day and 70s at night. Might have been pressure drop but not temp. I sweat the same both days. Soaking wet head to toe by 10:30 am.

I'll go the garlic strung around my neck and onion squeezed in my shoes and smeared under my arms with fiddler crabs in my shirt pockets today. If that doesn't work I might step it up tomorrow!

Gordon I got you by a year I'm 76 1/2. And yes getting out of bed is tough but getting in and out of my 13 foot Gheenoe is a whole lot tougher. Especially getting out because the legs have gotten used to sitting for so long and have to be urged to work in order to get out of the boat. The walk to get the trailer usually makes the problem go away. Good fishing to you. I expect to get out whenever this rain quits
