I posted a reply to the above but, I think, it went off into cyberspace. Anyway, trout are very lethargic during early and late season because of the cold water temp. and they will not go very far food, so, keep in mind that you will have to put your fly very close to their feeding lane, within inches. The Pink Squirrel is also my go to fly and it works well for brookies. The brookie candy, however, is a fly that I tie the looks like a Trico, size 18 - 22 but it is tied completely out off fluorescent orange material. For some reason they will just suck that fly right up. Give it a try, Tight Lines!
