Wright's lake trip

Made it to Wright's lake today. No smoke in the air from Calif. burning up. The water levels were lower then I expected. Need a boat to reach deep enough water to get any action. The creek had pools of still water and no flow. NOT A BITE but beautiful forest. Wanted to post a stringer of Trout for y'all.

Hey Dman. Nice pic. Too bad you didn't get any fish. Hopefully you will next time.
Where you from in Cali.
I use to live in Tahoe and cut firewood up near Wrights Lake all the time so I've been there many times. Beautiful area .

Natomas / Sacramento. I went to the Nimbus Dam hatchery to get some pellets but they were closed till a later date... Coronavirus I guess. That's what they were raised on. Fished a little at Dark lake too but shallow as far out as I could see. I was throwing out about 35 - 40 ft . I asked a kayaker going past my bobber if he could see the depth there and he said about 2 ft deep. that creek was dried up. It used to be such a good camping ground 10 years ago.

Welcome to the Forum, Dman. That beautiful area is much better than an ugly stringer of trout. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Dman. You live right over there by Spirit and some others.
When all this virus stuff gets better, we'll all have to get together and wet a line somewhere.
Have a good day and tight lines to ya if ya get out.

Our friends had a cabin on the lake. My Dad fished there in the 1940s and 50s. Limit back then was 50 and if wanted, you could catch 50. Most people kept what they could eat and maybe take some smoked trout home, so plent to go around.
