Got that right RJS. Should rename to “The Fishing Stage for Californians and everyone else!”

Since more people live in California, it only makes sense that we have more members. Don't you think? And California is a sportman's wet dream. Welcome to the stage. And don't go lettin these other jealous members make you feel unwelcome because you live here. Be proud.

Not trying to bust on Cali fisher people at all Spirit. You do live in a fishing paradise and should be proud. Sorry you took it that way.

It kinda sounded that way. Hey, I'm touchy when it comes to California. No harm done. I just speak up when I'm feelin poked. If it were that good, you'd think I would of caught a damn fish by now.

not poking anything at anybody....but within the past fifteen minutes i heard someone call the "baloney virus" the reason he couldnt go fishing with any or much, luck. Then read someone thinks more people live in california. I would agree in the point that a lot more folks tend to get on this site from cali...doesnt mean a larger population overall though.Oh well, im hitting the sack soon...good fishing, tight lines, all the cliches.

Welcome Roger! Salt water, fresh water, or both?

I am going to dispel any rumors that California is a "fishing paradise". Been ocean fishing up and down the CA coast for the past 50 years. Every year I see more fishing boats, more closures, and less fish. For some reason though, I still go fishing. Its that little problem that some of us have, OCFD (obsessive compulsive fishing disorder).

Maybe if you hadn't caught more than your share and left some for the rest of us? ssenkie, I'm just jerkin your chain. I agree with you - it ain't what it used to be. But then, what is? We need to go somewhere where there aren't 40 million people all tryin to catch the same fish. And in California, that would be up here, north of Sacramento. There are still a few spots up here, but you have to look hard and be willing to work at it a little. I'm gettin too old for that, so I'm waiting for covid to be over with and the kids to be back in school.
