Just back in Florida from picking up a sailboat in USVI. A great sail, fishing all the way. I'll try to upload some pics. Mainly fishing for supper, but had great fun. I'm new to deep water sailing, but to all you sailboat types, toss in a line. Hit on anything shiny on top of the water, just out of the wake.

I'm heading out to Lake Powell Arizona next week. Rented a large houseboat for a family reunion. I thought I'd try trolling behind a 50' houseboat. Any one with any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any tips.

Fishing Buddy: You sure do get around, from the Virgin Islands to AZ. I must confess, I know so little about a proper answer to your question that It would be foolish for me to answer. What I would do, when you get to AZ and are about to sail with the houseboat, check the local tackle shop in the harbor. They should be able to give you sound advice on what lures are suitable for trolling there. Being it is the middle of summer, I would expect the fish are down deeper and not on the surface. But that is just an opinion. Just Sayin...RJS

Sailing back from Bahamas I caught a Barracuda while going over the reef on a plastic tooth paste tube and chalk line with a hook on it. I was the only one on the boat interested in fishing. It was about 36", let it go.

When younger, early twenty's I crewed on ocean going sailboats. Had to give it up around 26, the body takes quite a beating which I'd already given it with construction which I continued until I finally retired at 68.

Now emotionally taking a beating taking care of a selfish wife. Mike
