Took my wife fishing yesterday & she caught her very first catfish - small yes, but she was thrilled. I caught a turtle. If I knew how to make turtle soup etc, I might have kept him.
BTW - anyone here near Bull Shoales, Taneycomo or Table Rock? I am new here and could sure use some help on where to find the fish. I am on Taneycomo/ Bull Creek & have a a small pontoon boat.

Tell her nice cat for me. Also I hope you taught her about the fins. Speaking from experience. They are painful. I’m sure someone will come along with some information for you. Good luck.

Talk to the people in the tackle shops, not the big box stores. They are very nice down there and they will help you out. Or, you could talk to your wife, she knows how to catch them.

Congrats to the Wife on her cat. Do you have a depth finder on that pontoon? There are hundreds of miles of shoreline to try on all those lakes. Find out which depth they seem to like and try different methods. Talking to the local bait shop is great advice, too. They need happy Customers, too. Good luck!
