Fishing in a stained and muddy small reservoir

Please help me. I'/m fishing in a stained and muddy small reservoir. Few letdowns
and some grass along the banks. I fish out of 12 foot fishing kayak set up for 2
rods. There is no topographic map. The lake is muddy bottom and between 10 feet to
20 feet. What color and type crankbaits do you recommend. What spinnerbaits and
weights. Thank you

Muddy, stained water may require a slower presentation than a crank bait especially if your water temp is above 80. I'd slow things down and allow the fish to find your lure. A black and blue jig, Texas rigged worm or some other type bottom searching lure may work out better. A rattle or some other type noise making add on may help the fish find your lure.

I do the canoe thing also. Not a fishing canoe just a big three person pelican. I like letting the lure pull me around on calm days. To me stained muddy water calls for gold or copper colorado blades and chatterbaits if I’m cranking. Otherwise, I’m trying Ivey’s suggestion.

Apply some scent on your lures, whatever they are. If they cant "see" it, they will sense the vibrations or smell it when they get close.

That makes scents.

Couldn’t help it again.
