Well, they aren’t good to eat. It’s a magnificent fish that deserves to provide sport to other anglers. If you want a trophy you can have one made using the fish’s actual measurements.

For the continuation of the species ! A fish that size lays
over 12 million eggs a year ! If
you absolutely MUST have a trophy, have someone take a
good picture, have it 'blown up'
to whatever size you choose,
then put it in a nice frame with
a plaque stating who caught it, where, when, length and
weight ! You still have a nice memento, it's much cheaper
than a taxidermy mount, and
the fish gets to live to continue
breeding and propagate the
species !
