Hello ladies and gents. I love sharing pictures of the fish I catch on here and enjoying Everyone else's catches as well.

I found this spot with the help of a older local man and some friendly conversation. I was fishing this part of the river yesterday and skunked but I was given some great knowledge. My wife kindly let me out on Sunday for a short 4 hour trip.

With a long, very wet walk in very cold water sometimes waist deep, I found a spot usually only frequented by those with kayaks and caught my first Rainbow Trout. Native so C n R. I have to research regulations more.

I was in the water (no boat) by 6:45am and home at 10:30. Really an amazing day though.

Hello ladies and gents. I love sharing pictures of... (show quote)

Beautiful trout and a beautiful stream, but then somebody had to get in the way of one of the stream pictures and spoil it. (LOL) It nice to put a picture of a face to a name, thank you!

Thanks! Best fighting fish I've ever caught. It jumped.out of the water a foot high, twice trying to get off the hook. Was worried it would free itself. Love catching trout!

I released it, was about 14 inches but where I was fishing was near a hatchery and the fish was native and not Hatchery born so I think I was supposed to release it. I wish I could have kept it.

If they're in cold water and they're wild they can put on a show that most others can't. That is one beautiful fish. Care to share what you caught it on? Thanks for those nice pics.

Thanks Spirit, yes it was wild and the water was definitely cold. When I first stepped in I was shocked as I thought it would be warmer.

I caught it on a local grasshopper which I also caught. Pole rigged simple, two split shots and about 36" under that a mosquito hook. No swivels which I used yesterday.

Seriously different from striper fishing. This fish hit the bug so hard and was just going nuts. Serious fight. I can only imagine a bigger trout. So excited.

Thanks, It's near the Mokulumne Fish Hatchery which is close to Lake Comanche in Northern CA. I am buying a small net. Lesson learned. Good times.

Awesome Gills, congrats on your first rainbow! When in doubt release. I agree on the fight and acrobatics, so fun

Just get a big net for those stripers you catch too.

I've got one. I ordered a small rubber net that I can strap to the back of my vest. My other is too big to walk far with.

Gotcha. I went back to the top and reread what you first wrote. Sounds like you waded the whole way to get to your spot? If so, that’s pretty hard core and dedicated, bud.
You may want to think about some waders too, specially when the weather turns. It never ends, always some gear to buy LOL

I certainly will. Yes I waded about 200 yards I think and it was pretty scary wading back up stream. Dedicated fisherman, absolutely, I love it. Some parts were only 1 foot deep, some 3+ so it was an experience. Only can do it when the flow is low, when they release more water that river is much higher and super fast. Even then, carefully.
