From the title I'm a bit upset at the moment, so what do you guys recommend for a around $100 casting rod for primary jigs or crankbaits?

The aforementioned St. Croix is great but also check out the Fenwick HMG.

Okuma is my suggestion. You will break rods especially if you hook big fish. I have one for Salmon BC. It was 100 combo. I also transport it in a soft bag thing. nicks and scratches and chips will weaken them. Ugly sticks are cool too.
