Hello Dame1981: Congratulations, but why not stay and catch fish in the rain? Have to hunker down and take it, unless you were moving to escape a tornado, the fish are quite used to water, and rain adds oxygen so why not hang around and see what happens? Might require the investment in a rain suit, but here in Texas on the gulf coast, you would have already found that a rain suit is required equipment! Post pictures! Just Sayin...RJS

Yes and no, Tar Heels came from the period during the civil war in which a lot of North Carolinians engaged in the production of turpentine and or tar from the plentiful pines that still grow in this great state, it was a lowly trade but the people took pride in it and called themselves TAR HEELS! Now I cant say for sure but I believe the river got its name due to being the route in which this tar was transported in that time period!

Yes, it was certainly a grind, 3 spots, 3 fish.

Took the yak up this morning to a new pond for me in CT. It rained for three hours. GoTa little wet, don’t care so much. I wish the catch had been better. One small LMB on rapala floating minnow. Some small sun fishing chasing a simple gold spoon but not muc else. It rains, dress for It and if you get wet, it’s only water. It there are thunderstorms, I get off the lake fast. My paddle is carbon finer and so are my rods. Lighting rods everyone of them .

Hey Jim, I can do you one better, my boat is aluminum. Can you say GROUND connection! I stay as far as possible from thunderstorms. Where did you go?
