I’ve been trying to get info about fishing Salmon/Trout in July at Gills Rock Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. I did find out they stocked 30,000 kings back in 2016 and wondering if Kings have been stocked each year since and how the fishing has been in that area. I do know the Smallmouth fishing is great in that area and would like to plan a combination trip of smallmouth and king salmon for some time in July of 2021. I can catch all the big smallmouth in my home state of Minnesota on Mille Lac’s Lake and in Lake Superior at Washburn Wisconsin but they don’t have the big king salmon at these two sites. The Salmon will be priority 1 with the smallmouth as a secondary targeted spices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, Ralph. Not many salmon in Mille Lac's. Your best bet would be to hire a charter out of Gill's Rock, if they have any. I know they have some charters out of Algoma. Are you bringing a boat? If going out on Lake Mich., it best be decent sized. Downriggers would help too. You might be able to catch one off of the harbor walls or just trolling around in the harbor. I have fished all around there but never Gill's Rock. It should be good, good luck. I think they stock salmon every year.

Welcome Ralph, there are hundreds of charters available off Door County from Sturgeon Bay to Washington Island who can hook you up. Come on over! Smallies, walleyes, northern, perch and muskies in Green Bay on the West side and Salmon and trout on the East side of the Door. Contact the Chamber of Commerce or just stop at the bar closest to the harbor near Gills Rock. Good luck!
