Hi. My name is Ricardo.
You know that joke about the BF hit me pretty good. Not because of the joke, but because of the title. I love to go fishing, don't get me wrong, but I can't fish worth a damn! I live in deep south Texas and I mean deep. If you throw a stone across the river you're in Mexico.
Anyway, I am 65 y.o. and am retired. I have no fishing partners, so I always go by myself to South Padre Island and fish in the flats and under the causeway to stay in the shade.
I cannot catch anything but saltwater catfish and undersized reds and trout. I always come home empty handed.
I've already accepted the fact that I am a bad fisherman. I watch videos, I read the how to's and I go out and try but nothing.
So that's my story. Short but to the point.
P.S. I have a 10' kayak

Welcome to the forum Ricardo. Where are you way down south? I was born and raised in Harlingen,TX
Ricardo: Partner, at least you are catching fish. Bet you are using either live or dead shrimp, right?
I suggest changing over to a jig with a tout shrimp tail. Maybe even two on terminal trackle below a weighted popping cork. That might help eliminate the smaller ones. Just Sayin...RJS
