So i currently have a Trout Stalker 5wt 9ft rod with a Remington Rise reel. Im have been trying to get into Backpacking and Back country fly fishing. I went out last week and really started to notice how long my rod is and how slow the action is on it.
Im in the market for a new 4wt 4 piece light weight (probably carbon fiber) rod. I chose 4wt because i don't want to give up my variety in the fly's i use (i still love my streamers).
I thought i would come here and see if anyone had any ideas for me, its a big market out there and i bought my first rod second hand.
I don't really have a budget for this, i already saved 500$ for some new gear but i can always save more this winter.
Thank you in advance =)

I would say go fiberglass. I love using my 5wt Butterstick for makeshift euro nymphing, casting moderately sized streamers, and dries/terrestrials. Plus they tend to be more durable.
Otherwise I would say look into a Redington Classic Trout. It’s a moderate action rod which can make smaller fish fun, good for dries, and there was a person on here who used it with a skagit head for bass with streamers.

I’ve got an 8’ 4wt Fenwick Aetos, I think they usually come in between $150-$200. It’s a great rod. Has the fast action/power to still make some long casts but you can still present delicately. You’d think it costs way more than it does.

Check out the Sage Foundation-graphite rod, 4 piece, and weighs like 3 ounces for a 9’ rod. Fast action also

Orvis Recon seems to be a solid contender for what you’re looking for
