I’ve been trying all week to land a bass, using the Texas rig, Carolina, wacky, etc. The biggest problem I have is I am a little impatient and not that great at paying close attention to my line for strikes. I fish catfish normally, so I’m used to just sitting there and waiting for a big ol thump. I have a few crank baits but they aren’t turning up anything either. Are there any other lures I can use in a shallow pond that are retrieve focused, not subtle line twitches etc? I have a 6”6 medium fast shimano convergence with a Sedona 3000 reel.

Use a lipless crank bait like a rattletrap.

But get the floating jerk bait if you are fishing shallow water. Lipless crank baits don’t dive too deep so they are ideal for shallow water

Just get a spinner bait bud! Great for weedy ponds. When they grab it just set hard to one side and you're on!

Yes kinda like cat fishing get you some Z-man TRDs ( Ned rig ) and some shroomz jigheads (weedless) I perfer, these baits stand up on the jighead and wait for a fish to bite it just wiggle it once n a while On semi slack line or you can fish it like a worm on the same jighead good luck and Fishon Fishon!!!!

Bass are funny ,they don't strike just because they are hungry, they are territorial. You have to tease them a bit to make them feel threatened then they bite to defend their spawn in the spring. Early morning and early evening they are usually in shallows near shore.I wish I knew more but I'm not a bass fisherman...I just fish
Top water frog. To increase odds of landing bass, use a trailer hook with it. Early morning is best. I love seeing a bass hit a frog! Top water Buzz baits should also work and are lots of fun too. Like the frog, use a trailer hook. If the bass are hungry - live bait, like big minnows/shiners will land fish for sure. That's what is used to catch the huge bass in FL. Many fish bite if you've got the right bait!
