Cutthroat in Yellowstone

Drove the family out to Yellowstone from the “Garden State”. Got out on Yellowstone Lake where the wife caught a 5lb Cutthroat. My six year old caught a smaller one but a great time all around, even if I did get skunked. Caught trolling in 20ft of water on a tiger colored spoon.

Awesome. I caught fish in Yellowstone River inside park. It was 35+ years ago. Same trip caught cutthroat trout on Snake River at East Table Creek meat Hoback junction between Jackson and Alpine Wyoming. Memories are great. Take your kids fishing.

Thanks all! Heading to Tetons after this Jeremy, I’ll try to find that spot. Any recommendations on flies. Brought spinning and fly rod for this trip

Btw you didn’t get skunked if they caught some, IMO.

Great looking fish Rusty! Good time and beautiful country I’m sure. I’ve had good luck with purple wooly buggers for cuttthroats in Colorado fishing high mountain lakes and streams. Black and olive are also good.
