Billsemfla: Welcome to the Forum. Lots of Bull, lots of fluff: In between, pretty good stuff! You have come to the right place. Don't expect that you will leap to the top and be catching trophy fish immediately. There is a rule, or adage that says: 30% of the fishermen catch 70% of the fish. So don't expect to join this group immediately, it takes time, effort, and learning how to think like the fish! Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome Bill. Great group of folks here. Lot of Florida people. I vacation there three months a year but live in Missouri. Ask questions about fishing and someone will get back to you.

You'll have to go 2 counties north to keep trout due to the Red tide kill off we had about 3 years ago. If you want to C&R the outglow canal from the Tarpon Springs power plant does well. The grass flats just out from Hudson is good for trout when the water gets colder. Drift over the flats on sunny days during the winter. Look for holes in the canals for Drum where water is cooler this time of the year. Sheephead around docks and piles. Knock the barnacles and oysters off to get a bite started. I lived in Hudson for 4 or 5 years. If you have a sea worthy boat and the time due west from Hudson is the "Middle Grounds" where you can load your boat slap full with Grouper Reds,Blacks, Scamp Vermilion Snapper. That's where the 2 day head boats go. You have to have a larger boat with electronic. Not just a GPS! I think I've still got #s on the grounds. PM me if you think I can help. Shoot if you have boat enough I'd even take you out.

Welcome Abored billsemfla, enjoy your retirement, remember there is always the rule of Greenhorn Luck. That gives you the right to catch the big one right off the bat or boat lol

You will want to go to My Profile and add your city and state. That way everyone will know where your fishing.

Hi Bill, this is Rich I live in Leesburg (about an hour away) on Lake Griffin. Fish for Bass, enjoy the sights and sip a few cold brews. Do you ever get over this way?
