I murder channel cats on raw shrimp from the grocery store. The shape fits a circle hook nicely, and you can always re-freeze what you don’t use for the next trip.

I am not a cat fisherman but last fall I was fishing a small [55 acres] lake that is 10 to 12 foot at its deepest. A young man on shore told me how he catches catfish off of his dock. He then told me the best and only bait to use was bear fat. He had just got a bear in an early season in another state. He went inside to get a piece. It was cut into a cube shape of maybe 1 or 2 inches.I thought you might find this interesting.Good luck fishing.
