How can I determine what weight fly line to go with my new pole?

I'm new to fly fishing and I bought a pole on-line and I don't know what weight line to put on it. Do I just get a 5 or 6 weight line and guess? There are no markings on the pole.

How about markings on the reel? Model # that you could look up? The rod is the critical part. Was the rod used? If new go to the supplier and get the info from them.

If there's a fly shop close take it in and let them recommend a line for it.
