Welcome Mike. There are some who fish Lake Mead. They should be along soon to help you out
Welcome to the stage Mike. Never fished Mead, but I understand there's no limit, size or number, on stripers. Good luck and post some pics please.

M. There is a place on your profile page you can put your location in so it will show up next to your name on each post. Just wanted to let you know incase you didn't see it.
I have property in Meadview, however I don't stay in the summer. But I'm sure the bass fishing would be good. But in the bar, there are some pictures of some huge channel cats. There are pictures of big Strippers also, but I have always wanted to go after them cats. They are hard to find in the winter, when I'm down there metal detecting for gold. But the bar is a good place to check. They have a small tackle shop inside.
Mike us California boys need to stay away from them Nevada big Strippers. They'll do more than make your rockin world go round. Stick to the fishin.

I grew up fishing Lake Mead. My family lived in Henderson Nevada. I found in the upper lake, that fishing for stripers or catfish was usually the most productive, although there are also big mouth bass in abundance. For catfish we usually used chicken livers, which we would wrap on a straight hook with magic thread to keep the meat on the hook. For Striper, we would use chunks of anchovy, and if fishing at night we would tie on a glow stick. The most effective technique is to watch for shad boils and use a lure that emulates a shad. I caught a 17 pound striper once while trolling a rapala trout lure 6”. A world record striped bass has been caught at the marina on Willow Beach using a lure that also resembles a small trout. I think this fish was 67 pounds. There’s a picture of it at the shop at the marina. For big mouth bass, use a Bushwacker lure, And pull it through the bushes where these bass lurk near the shore.

This time of year for smallmouth and largemouth I would be looking for a early morning top water bite, after the fireball comes up (as this time of year it can get as hot as 118 deg.). Then I would go to a shade pattern wherever you can find it. In the narrows along the walls, gyp beds, and whenever your in cuts look for dark areas (submerged brush) I have 5 US Opens under my belt on the pro side fishing this time of year. Hope this helps you out. Need more IM me.
