Bingham Lake Fishing now

I'm new to Bingham and my granddaughter wants to catch a fish so I could use some inside information to help her if you wouldn't mind sharing. We went there 8/4 and tried all my old tricks off the rocks along the dam but the water seems quite warm and nothing was biting near the surface mid-morning when it was over 80 degrees. We saw a lot of big carp jumping and rolling but didn't try to catch them but I understand there are ways to catch them. I'm guessing we need to fish deep with a drop sinker and live bait or work some kind of plastic baits or jigs deep but I don't know where that would be on the lake but assuming near the rocks at the dam. Some of the older records say the lake is full of fathead minnows which makes it hard to catch the wipers but I also hear they catch them on flys but what kind and where ?
Any information you can share will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, Bill. I think would try a crawler under a cork and see what happens

Welcome Bill: I don't know how old your granddaughter is , but if she is, say 10 or under, get some earth worms, and a cork. You are likely to catch some brim, or perch, and maybe even catfish. Anything that pulls will be exciting for a beginner. Just Sayin...RJS
