that crappie was big enough
that he really didn't need to hold his arms out to the camera
kinda spoils it for me

That’s a big crappie for sure. Idaho is the only place that google told me where crane creek reservoir was.
I remember when I was a kid taking my brother to a farm pond outside of town and he caught a 17 1/2 in on a spin beetle jig.
I have known the feeling of a big slab recently. Released to fight another day!

That’s a dandy! Glad to hear about the release.
You can eat a fish once
But you can catch them twice
Holy cow that's a nice fish. I'd love to get into some of them.

nice catch sir, the state record for black crappie in ohio is 18 1/8 inch and white crappie is 18 1/2 inch, many years ago my dad set the state record with white crappie catching it at turkey foot lake in Akron Ohio by Dustys landing it was 18 inch. take care and good luck.

Great crappie, released to make more...nice!
if you didn't post the picture I would never have believed that a crappie could grow that big. I've been fishing crappie for 50 years and never caught one over a pound and that was a record for me. Great fish. The release was great.
