Does anyone know if there is a web site with Washington coast Tuna reports. It's that time of the year and will be hunting Halibut on 8/6 off Westport and looking forward to my first tuna trip. Last year the boat trailer came unglued on the way to Westport. Somebody in Florada welded the axels on the new trailer twisted in opposite directions and blew 2 tires, the fender and truck tranny. Boat did not get hurt thank god.
I know some charters work as a team such that when one is in port they keep updated from there friends where they are. Just about every trip I went on, they were 70 +or - miles out and they had to cruise out starting at around 11 pm to get there by day light.
I’ve heard similar reports. Tuna are way out. Bite is sporadic. Tuna are deep. Good luck
The more the water warms the closer they will get to shore. Instead of a 150 miles out they will come within 30/40 miles out. Check with the charters they have the info and knowledge
Call Westport Charters at 360-563-0157. I friend just gave me one caught there last week.
Thanks guys I will be at Westport in 4 hours for halibut and will check. Let you all know how the opener goes. Just can't figure out how to post pictures.
