Westport Chinook

Once the wind let up enough so we could go, the fishing was slow, but long hours trolling resulted in two Chinook.

The fish are very scattered so it takes a while to find the small schools. Caught on green hootchie and green coyote spoon.

Slow but worth the trip if you're in the area.

Fishing this trip was out of Westport, WA. 14 miles offshore in 250' of water. Beautiful sunny day, low swells and light wind. I will post a picture after I get them from my buddies phone.

Hey Terry, that's great. Are you from Westport? That's a long way's off shore. Glad y'all caught fish.
We weren't as successful striper fishin today. Caught 1 bat ray bout 8 pounds and for bout 15 min. we thought it might be a 10 pound striper. Finally netted the little guy and was able to release him. Bout 22 inches across and had bout a 3 or 4 inch barb on his tail.
Maybe Halibut fishin Tues. IDK yet.

Nobody would admit to being from Westport, it is your typical fishing port.

We limited. My daughter-in-Law and Grandson were the real stars helping old Grandpa. Dealing with a lot of lower back pain so it was hard standing at the rail for 8 hours working the bait. She missed the derby winner by 4 oz. Awesome Charter (Advantage Charter). been going with them for 30 years.
