Heading up to the Eastern Sierras. Any news, tips or suggestions. Thanks.
Fly or conventional? Boating, floating or bank?
Spinning. Bank. Bait and artificials.
Early morning you can try spinners (I like panther martins) and I've had success with the super duper. If you can see them rising to bugs, try a casting bobber ( plastic bubble you partially fill with water to give it some weight), put on a fluorocarbon leader and tie on a fly - I like to drag around a wooly bugger, trout love em, olive or black work well. Later in the day, Berkley artificials work well floated off the bottom. Regular old power bait or those mouse tails. Inflated night crawlers floated off the bottom work well too. If you need help rigging any of that let me know. Glad to help. The thing you need to know before anyone else mentions it is that I haven't caught a single fish since last December. But all that has worked in the past. Man I need to kill this skunk that's following me around.
Thanks. You’ve confirmed a lot of what I would already do.
I was looking for some recent reports.
