I’m heading back down to Eureka Springs Arkansas around 20th of September can anybody recommend what’s the best fishing at that time in either Beaver lake or by the dam in the white river and if so could you give me some tips on what kind of setup to use.I will most likely be bank fishing as I haven’t found a boat to buy yet.

Hi cueball. You need to try out some of the lures and White River rig I talked to you about for the trout below the dam.
The trout fishing should be good at that time. The fishing pressure should be a little less by then after the long weekend. It does make a difference. I will be at my place on the White below Bull Shoals dam September 18 through the 27. I am hoping they won't be running a lot of water but Bull Shoals is still 30 feet above normal pool for this time of year. They have to start dumping off at some point. Hoping you do well when you are back down there. If you want you can PM me for more info on the trout fishing.

How is the fly fishing on the tailwaters below the dam at that time of year. We plan on being there sometime after Labor day.

I'm not sure which of us you were questioning and I don't fly fish but I do know that it is good year round below Bull Shoals. There are several guides that specialize in fly fishing there year round.
I have property about 5 miles downstream from Bull Shoals dam and spin cast fish with a lot of different lures and also use the White River Rig that rolls along the bottom with powerbaits and corn, wax worms, shrimp, or nightcrawlers. We always do well that way. As I said above to cue, they are going to start releasing a lot of water at some point because the lake level is about 30 feet above normal power pool right now. Like I said though the trout fishing is good year round. Check out bullshoalslakeboatdock.com for more info on the area. If that is the area you are going to you can PM me for info on other resorts and guides in the area.
They also have nice camping facilities above and below the dam.

My great aunt and uncle owned lookout cottages near the spooky haunted hotel I spent a lot of summers on the white river below the dam. Tried everything to catch a trout then a little old lady told me to by some canned corn. And spent the rest of my time watching bald eagles and making fly fisherman very very mad when I would catch them at their feet. Good times

That wasn't very nice!!!lol. We are travelling with our 10yo GD for a month. Last week she wanted to fish a pond full of grass carp. I rigged a Carolina rig as the water was close to 80 degrees baited with corn. She caught a bunch of carp and two nice cats . Everyone else were using worms under a bobber, Nothing! Finally I want over to one family with a few young kids trying to catch fish and gave them a handful of corn and told them to loose the bobbers and fish the bottom. Those kids were so excited when they began catching carp.
It was fun to be able to help them experience catching rather than just fishing.

I believe there is a video out there but I will try to explain it.
Tie a swivel sinker to your line, (I use the same line that is on my spool I am fishing with) , move up the line about 8 inches and make a loop to tie your main line to when you are done, then take about 2 feet to 30 inches of line longer below your sinker and tie a #6 aberdeen hook to it then as I said , tie your main line to the loop. This will allow your weight to roll on the bottom and your bait to float up away from the sinker.
I will try to show some pics. Good luck.

Ok think I got it. Thanks very much for sharing MAS. Do you use mainly from the shore? Looks like could possibly use for trolling.

You are very welcome. I love to see folk catching fish and if I can help I am glad to. You should be able to use that rigging on just about any trout stream. You can change out the size of the weight depending on water flow rate where you are. MAS
