Super frustrating
I was at a new spot, could SEE big schools of perch, and monster footballs breaching every few minutes within 30 feet of me. I threw top water frog, senkos, worms, even a baby bluegill I caught with the bait rod, NOTHING!!
The only reasonable size fish I caught was a 20" inch carp that swam near me, and I was so frustrated after 2 hours of blanks I jumped in the water and grabbed it with my bare hands

This super hot weather is ruining a lot of people's fishing outings the past several weeks.

I hear that. I take a break from like middle of May through August here in Oklahoma. I'll throw something out just for the hell of it if I'm camping but don't really expect much. Don't get down, big boys will be hungry in the fall

but I want to fish NOW.
Good to know, super frustrating though.
This is my first bass season as I've always been a trout/Salmon angler out west in BC. I was used to the early spring and late summer/fall
I don't have a boat, so I can't hit those cooler spots in the lakes and rivers either.

Swimbaits and deep crankbaits in perch colors should do the job

We are all super frustrated, and the lakes I fish are under a lot of pressure year round. Not many places you can bank fish. The shoreline is mainly taken up with lake houses, and where it isn't, the water is shallow. I guess I am going to have to buy some kind of boat.
I feel your pain!

now that is 'frustration'!!!
Well, Dude: When they aren't biting on anything, and you are already there, why not practice something you've wanted to learn but never took the time to practice. Can't cast left handed, try that for a spell. need to learn how to flip a lure at a small target, now is your chance, don't give up on learning to improve your skills that you will use sometime in the future. And in doing this, you might accidentally catch a fish! Just Sayin...RJS
