A few years ago my wife stood in front of me and pointed out that I had seven "fishing poles" standing in the garage. "Why do you need all those poles?" I calmly explained that you use different rods and reels for different fish and different locations. She seemed to accept that
explanation and moved on. I didn't tell her about the ten stowed in the rod locker on the boat. πŸ˜‹

"WOW" Great Lady Cave, it looks like many of the cabins in Northern Minnesota and Michigan. You may have to add a addition on in a few more years. How much money do you think that you have invested in all of you fishing gear?

When she asks me I always ask her how many pairs of shoes does she need. She just smiles and says "touche"

They were a gift, I out lived their last owner. In truth I have 10 rods, I use 4, but I only carry 2 with me everyday. Never know when the need to catch a fish will hit you

I wish mine looked that organized, Did you straighten up for that picture, or is that the way you keep it? Mrs. Spirit and I have a great arrangement. I don't ask about the shoes and the purses, she doesn't complain about the fishing gear. And I wan't allow her to buy cheap shoes or purses unless she sees something that's just "too cute".

I'm new into fishing and I currently have 7 rods and reels plus a court extra reels. My wife once asked me why I needed so many poles.

I explained the same, than we briefly discussed her shoe and bag collections. We don't talk about my poles much anymore πŸ˜‚

I bought my wife a really nice one a few years back. It's a St.Croix Avid Pearl. Google it. Kinda girlie lookin, it's lavender and has a mother-of-pearl reel seat. She never uses it. I do. The fish don't care what color it is and neither do I.

I have a bunch of poles in the rafters in the garage. Most of them I've never used. Thrift stores and garage sale finds that I can't resist buying. Most need for me to rewrap them. Also have a big plastic tub with old Penn reels bought the same way.
Maybe there should be a Rod & Reel anonymous group that we can go to for meetings.
