Salmon fished on rough seas and got skunked today. But we did manage to bring home a few crabs!

Break out the crackers and picks. Turn to. Looks mighty good. Did you bring home some sea water to cook it in?

Spirit,
I did not. Didn't even think about it. But that sounds like a great idea! I will have to remember that. I can imagine that would really enhance the flavor. I did use salt water though (Morton salt).
You are learnin me!

I'll take a skunk any day to come home with Dungeness Crab. Those are mighty tasty. I too am excited about the open of salmon season. Still no boat yet but maybe I will find a straggler in shallow waters and piss em off enough to bite!

Try rock salt and Old Bay crab seasoning sometime. That's Maryland style.

I second the use of old Bay. That there works wonders on seafood.

Nice Dungey's and one rock... I haven't found any nice dungeness yet up here but only been out once. Trying to find the best spots.

Try crab chowder, use the shells to make crab stock with then add the meat just before you are ready to eat so it just gets warmed up. A couple prawns are a nice touch too.

Hard to best Maine Lobster but it is a delicious meal nonetheless.

Yeah my wife likes those red rock crabs. I don't care for them myself but I always try and keep 1 or two for her.
